Mark Johnson

Mark Johnson is regional president of Mars’ North American Pet Nutrition business, headquartered in Franklin, Tennessee. In this role, he oversees the strategy and execution for the business, driving longterm, sustainable growth for brands such as PEDIGREE®, IAMS®, SHEBA®, CESAR®, NUTRO®, and GREENIES® and oversees a supply chain encompassing over 20 manufacturing sites and 4,000 Associates. 
 
Mark has spent the majority of his 30-year Mars career within the Petcare segment – originally joining the business in 1987 as a graduate trainee for Mars Petcare UK, spending time in both sales and marketing. 
 
In 2004, Mark entered general management, leading the dry pet food segment in Europe, where he led a turnaround for that business. In 2006, he returned to the UK as general manager for Petcare and, under his leadership, Mars Petcare in the UK consistently improved its financial delivery and experienced sustained growth. In 2012, Mark accepted the role as regional president of Mars Petcare Russia & CIS. During his tenure, the Russian Petcare business experienced strong growth and built strong capabilities, particularly in the areas of sales and category leadership.  
 
Mark received a bachelor of science in Management Sciences from Loughborough University in England. 
 
He is passionate about leaving a legacy of creating more pet-friendly destinations, helping homeless pets, and encouraging responsible pet ownership through education, Associate volunteer efforts, and Mars Petcare’s Better Cities for Pets™ initiative. 
 
Mark lives in the Nashville area with his partner, Anna, their newborn daughter, Eve, and family dog named Ollie. He also has two teenage sons, Tom and Ben. When he’s not spending time with family, Mark enjoys being active and can often be found cycling on the roads of Tennessee.
