Kenneth Harms has been the president of Mid-South District at United Parcel Service, Inc. since June 2010. The Mid South District is comprised of the states of Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and the Florida panhandle and employs nearly 14,000 UPS'ers. Harms is a 28-year UPS veteran. Previously, Harms served as the Manager of Illinois District at UPS. He began his UPS career in 1982 as a Package Handler in the North Florida District and after being promoted into management, moved through a series of jobs of increasing responsibility. He served as Manager of the Oklahoma District at UPS since 2002.
He is responsible for setting the strategic directionoftheMid South District, as well as overseeing the execution of the business plans at a high level to ensure that profitable revenue growth is attained He is also responsible for aligning the activities both internally and externally with the vision or strategic direction of the Mid South District. Ken oversees an annual operating budget of $1.1 billion and is responsible for $1.6 billion of revenue generation.
Ken graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in business administration management. He and his wife, Pam, have been married for 29 years, and have three daughters, with one granddaughter, and they live in Franklin, Tennessee.
Ken has been involved on several non-profit boards including CASA of Kane County, Kane County United Way, Oklahoma City Urban League, Governors Economic Development Council of Oklahoma, Latino Community Development Agency, National Organization of Women Business Owners, State and City Chamber's of Commerce, Central Oklahoma United Way and The United Way of Tulsa. Ken is a member of Rotary Club 94 and currently serves on the American Heart Association, Metro Nashville United Way, CASA of Davidson County, Tennessee Business Roundtable and Middle Tennessee Council Boy Scouts of America Boards.
