Franklin Theatre
419 Main Street, Franklin
Topic: Do What You Like Least First - Challenge Yourself
Mark Cleveland has been involved in a number of businesses as an entrepreneur, real estate developer and legitimate pioneer in several different industries. From satellite communications to software development, from transportation data information systems to marine barge operations, from mountain bike manufacturing to socks and the hobby product distribution business... what can tie that career path together?
One word: challenges.
Mark Cleveland walks through his various business experiences on an entrepreneur's adventure. What lessons are learned in failure, what lessons are learned in success, and what happens when you're out of your comfort zone?
As co-founder of Swiftwick, Mark helped shape the brand, producing medical and athletic compression socks and demonstrating his passion for manufacturing in Tennessee and creating jobs in our community. Mark is also the CEO and owner of Hobby Express, formerly Hobby Lobby, an online retailer of radio controlled drones, airplanes and other hobby products. He was named one of the region's Most Admired CEOs by the Nashville Business Journal, and he is Nashville's 2014 "Entrepreneur of the Year" - an award presented by the Nashville Chamber and the Entrepreneur Center. In March 2015, Mark earned the "Williamson County Impact Award" - his second consecutive community recognition.
