September is Hunger Action Month (HAM)
1 in 6 people struggle with hunger in Middle Tennessee. Take Action to End Hunger.
September is Hunger Action Month, when food banks across the country unite to spread awareness for the issue of hunger. This September, Second Harvest encourages you to take action in your community that will help shed light on the issue of hunger and show your support for those who are struggling.
You can help by participating in any of these actions. As individuals, charities, businesses and government, we all have a role to play in getting food to those in need.
Join the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee in fighting hunger and feeding hope at this philanthropy connect event. A team of 50 Young Professionals will give back to their community in this fun, networking occasion. Read below to get all the important details.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Your group ID Number: 614145
Pre-Registration:
Every member of your group 18 years and older must be pre-registered with Second Harvest before arriving to volunteer. This allows Second Harvest to have a record for each volunteer, and it also serves as the volunteer waiver for adults. Please complete the Group Member Form to register by using WC Young Professionals as the Group Name.
When you arrive:
Check-in your group using the number on the kiosk in the lobby or the Culinary Arts Center. Please note that every member of your group who has registered with Second Harvest will receive an individual volunteer number. You may personally sign in if you would like to track individual volunteer hours, however only the group leader is required to sign in for the entire group.
Youth/Minors:
All minors MUST have a parent or legal guardian sign the Youth Volunteer Waiver. This form can be turned in the day of the volunteer project. In addition, minors are able to complete the Group Volunteer Application referenced above in order to track their volunteer hours, or sign up for individual volunteer shifts. The online form is optional for minors, however, every minor MUST also have a hardcopy Youth Volunteer Waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
