Benjamin Papa - Attorney and Mediator
Most of the legal work Attorney-Mediator Benjamin Papa does at Papa & Roberts, PLLC is related to divorce. Drawing from his educational background in psychology from Vanderbilt University, his Master of Divinity from Vanderbilt, and his law practice since 2000 (family law exclusively since 2003), his over-arching philosophy as a divorce attorney and mediator is that divorce is a life event that includes legal, financial, and emotional elements. Divorce is not simply a lawsuit. As a result, Mr. Papa works with clients to try and proactively address all three dimensions of divorce by using non-adversarial, problem-solving approaches to divorce such as divorce mediation and collaborative divorce. He regularly works in tandem with other divorce professional, including mental health and financial professionals to meet his clients' needs as they move through the complex waters of divorce. If the parties have children together, Mr. Papa does what he can to set the parties up to be effective co-parents after the divorce. These approaches to divorce frequently result in clients spending less money in legal fees, less time, and experiencing much less stress all while maintaining more control over their case than would be true if they resolved their divorce through the contested litigation system while often culminates in a divorce trial.
