About Us

Nestled on 5.6 wooded acres, the center’s timber-framed entrance way impresses all who walk through our doors. Since opening in December 2002, FiftyForward Martin Center has seen significant growth in membership and in community attention and use.

Members flock here for a spectrum of classes and programs. Popular exercise classes are Pilates, flex exercise, low-impact aerobics, Tai Chi, and yoga. Special interest groups respond to members’ programming requests: Wine Sippers, book club, art classes and the standard social attraction of card and board games. The center is also home to the Card Crusaders, a group of older adults who craft greeting cards that are works of art. Using the Dutch iris-paper folding technique the Card Crusaders' cards have become treasured works of art. They are sold at the center, zoos in Nashville and Chattanooga and in the gift shop at the Frist Art Museum in Nashville.
